  • The Francis J. Kane Elementary School is located on the east side of Marlborough near the Sudbury line.
  • It is a comprehensive child-centered kindergarten through grade 4 school enrolling approximately 650 students.
  • Instruction is focused around standards-based core curriculum aligned to state frameworks, including balanced literacy, mathematics, science and social studies.
  • Art, music, health/wellness/physical education, library/media and technology experiences also are  provided to students to enrich student learning experiences.
  • Kane School provides a full array of therapies and special education services.
  • Classroom computers provide Internet access, and SmartBoard technology is available.
  • Kane School continues to maintain a kindergarten program that is accredited by NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).
  • Second Step social skills program in all grades.
  • MCAS before- and/or after-school enrichment/preparation offered for grade 3 students.
  • “Study Island,” a web-based software program supports MCAS preparation for students at various grades.
  • Teacher-initiated before- and after-school enrichment programs offered throughout the year.
  • Active PTO that is supportive to staff and administration.
  • Newly refurbished library.
  • A “Partnership for Learning” initiative highlights school, parents and students working together for student success.
  • Math, science, and literacy family events organized for family involvement.
  • Business partner, Synopsys, provides financial and human resources to Kane School, supporting a number of initiatives including funding for before- and after-school enrichment programs conducted by school staff and our “Science-O-Rama” annual event.
  • Two classrooms house Assabet Valley Collaborative programs.
